Strawberry Blouse

Life is short. Buy the strawberry blouse.

That’s what I said to myself when I saw this adorable strawberry blouse at Anthropologie. The print is just so fresh and happy, and literally puts a smile on my face when I look at it. Little strawberries dancing around on a blush pink background – you just can’t wear this and be in a bad mood.

I tucked mine in to a pair of skinny jeans, but you can also do the half tuck (which I’m still trying to master – I’m not quite that cool) or just tie it at the waist. After getting this top, I immediately started looking for more strawberry print pieces. I found these super cute strawberry earrings and these strawberry flats that would look adorable paired with a simple denim dress.
More of a pineapple gal? How about this pretty pineapple maxi dress? Or this oh-so-darling pineapple bomber jacket that I am seriously about to add to my cart? Floral prints are huge this spring, but let’s not forget about fruit you guys!

My blush pink clutch is from Elaine Turner, and it goes with pretty much every single outfit I own. The geometric zipper on the front flap is so unique, and it holds more than you would think! You can also add a chain if you prefer, but I love it as a clutch. It’s on major sale, too (originally $198, now $99), and it also comes in jaquar haircalf and snake print. Talk about a good deal, especially if you love Elaine Turner as much as I do!

Button-Front Denim Skirt

Denim skirts made a big comeback last year, and they are still going strong this spring! I wore denim skirts all the time back in my college days (a.k.a. way long ago), so I was happy to see them make a glorious return. I have been loving all the different takes on the denim skirt – the frayed wrap, the step hem, the lace up, the embroidered, and the button-front (which I am wearing here). I found this skirt at Forever 21 for under $18, and it will most definitely be on repeat this spring and summer!
I found this cute embroidered top at Forever 21 as well, but it literally JUST sold out in all the sizes. I hate it when that happens, but I still wanted to share it with you all. It is so light and airy, and looks great with denim. Cross your fingers for a restock. Let’s focus our energy and will it to happen! I found some other pretty tops that you could get for a similar look, like this scallop trim one and this v-neck one.

It is most definitely feeling like spring here in Texas (maybe even summer), and the grass is getting greener and greener every day. This ranch is right across from our house, so we spend a lot of time on our balcony during the spring and summer taking in the country views. I know some places are still cold right now, and I am sure it’s hard for them to get in the spring mood! How is the weather where you are? Is it feeling like spring yet, or is winter hanging on? Let me know how your spring transition is going in the comments!

Texas Tulips + Gingham Dress

Last week, Garrett and I got up at the break of dawn and drove up to Texas Tulips to pick tulips (and to take lots of pretty photos!). If you haven’t been to Texas Tulips, it is the cutest little tulip farm in Pilot Point, Texas. As soon as we stepped onto the field, we were suddenly transported to Holland. It honestly did not feel like Texas! The owners are originally from Holland, and they loved Texas so much that they decided to bring their tulip business here a few years ago. The gorgeous fields are straight out of a storybook, especially at sunrise. I could have spent the entire day out there twirling around and picking tulips like a Disney princess. Seriously so dreamy!

I found this adorable peasant style gingham dress at Macy’s a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was perfect for a sunny spring day in the countryside. I also love this off the shoulder dress with slightly bigger checks, and this sleeveless dress with a similar ruffle hem. I have been seeing gingham all over the place lately, and I think it is just the perfect print for spring and summer! I mean, how can you resist these adorable gingham shoes? And at $49, this midi skirt is definitely calling my name! I rounded up all of my favorite gingham finds below. Scroll to the end of this post to see all of them (and to start shopping, of course!). Let me know which pieces are your favorite in the comments!

Floral Button-Up Blouse

How do I love thee, floral blouse? Let me count the ways.

I have been so drawn to floral prints lately, on everything from clothes to wallpaper to furniture. The more intricate, the better! This floral top has the most gorgeous print and such pretty colors. The little pops of pink, blue, yellow, and green just put me in the happiest spring mood! I love the way longer sleeved tops look with shorts. It just kind of balances everything out – less coverage on the bottom, more on the top. These navy chino shorts from J.Crew are my faves right now. The length is a bit longer (4 inch inseam), so I don’t feel like I am falling out of them! AND…they are on sale for 30% off with code HAPPYSPRING through the end of today (3/24/17). Hurry and grab them while they are on sale!

So what is everyone up to today? Any fun Friday plans? Garrett and I are going coffee shop hopping around Dallas. We both work from home now, and while we both have a home office it’s great to get out of the house and work at a coffee shop every now and then. The change of scenery can spark creativity, and I think it’s easier to focus on working when there’s not a million distractions (like the gigantic pile of laundry in the corner, the dogs barking at the delivery guy, the husband wanting me to watch TV with him, etc.). Here’s to a super productive, highly caffeinated Friday!

Ruffle Top + Embroidered Jeans

Happy Thursday! Today I wanted to share this cute and casual look that is perfect for a weekend shopping trip or lunch with friends. Yes – another ruffle top. I just can’t get enough! This J.Crew sleeveless top has the prettiest textured polka dot detail all over, and it buttons at the neck (you could leave it unbuttoned if you wanted a bit more breathing room). It is also on sale for 30% off with code HAPPYSPRING now through tomorrow (3/24/17). Get it in a bright citrus (yellow) and black, too!
One of the biggest trends this spring is embroidery, and I am obsessed! I just recently picked up these amazing LC Lauren Conrad jeans with blue floral embroidered detail on the pockets and near the ankles. I would also venture to say that these may be the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn. Seriously. I don’t know what it is, but they hug in all the right places and just feel so good. They are on sale right now for $28, so run and check to see if your size is still available because they are going quick!

On a side note, I am SO HAPPY FOR SPRING! Do you all have any fun trips coming up? I am itching to go to some place tropical, but I would settle for a road trip somewhere a little closer. I would love to hear about your upcoming travel plans and where you think I should go. Let me know in the comments!

The Perfect Easter Dress

One of my favorite fabrics to wear during the spring and summer is seersucker. Couple that with stripes and scallops and you have this Lauren James dress that stole my heart the minute I saw it. I knew this would be the perfect dress for Easter! It is actually one piece, although it looks like two pieces. The details on this dress are so pretty and feminine, with the back opening slightly and buttoning at the top (scroll to the very last photo in this post and you’ll see!). I might pair it with a white cardigan depending on the weather, which is always up in the air every single Easter. I think it would also be cute with this blue cardigan, or even a floral cardigan. Print on print has been a big trend lately!
I have been wearing a lot of light blue lately, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon! If you saw my Instagram post yesterday, you probably saw these blue block heel sandals (that I also have in tan and black). I honestly don’t think I have ever owned a pair of blue heels, but how perfect are they with this dress? They are also super cute with jeans (see this post when I wore my tan pair with jeans), and they are so comfortable you wouldn’t believe it! I got every color except red, and now I am thinking about going back for the red pair. It is very rare that I find any kind of heels that I wouldn’t mind walking around town in, so when I found these I didn’t even hesitate to get multiple pairs. The more, the merrier!

Blue Ruffle Yoke Top

Ruffles are everywhere you look these days, and I am absolutely loving it! Ruffled sleeves, ruffled hemlines, ruffled collars – if you can ruffle it, it has officially been ruffled. I love everything about this Who What Wear top. Powder blue is a big trend for spring, and of course stripes make everything better! I am obsessed with the pretty, feminine collar detail and the cute buttons down the front. I paired it with a simple pair of skinny jeans, but I think it would look adorable tucked into a white or navy skirt.

I just noticed that my Sorial Gramercy Envelope Clutch is available again, and it’s on sale for less than $30! For a while I couldn’t find it anywhere, but it’s definitely back and also comes in dark grey. I have had mine for a couple of years and it gets so much use! It also comes with a detachable gold chain, so you can wear it on your shoulder if you don’t want to carry it as a clutch. It’s one of those items that will never go out of style, and goes with pretty much everything.

These cognac sandals coordinate perfectly with my clutch, and they are less than $25! I have a feeling they will be my go to sandals this spring and summer, so I am honestly thinking about stocking up on several pairs (including the natural and rose gold versions). They are so classic, and super comfortable! Wear them with dresses, jeans, skirts, shorts – literally anything. They are so versatile!
