Blue High/Low Dress

Blue has been one of my favorite colors this spring, so when I saw this gorgeous high low dress I quickly snatched it up. Knox Rose always has the cutest pieces, and this one is under $30.00! The print has a very Moroccan feel to it with a little bit of a boho vibe, too. I just love the mixed prints and the ruffle detail along the bottom. It’s super lightweight, which means it will be perfect for spring AND summer in Texas. How perfect would this be for a picnic in the park, or an evening stroll on the beach?

I paired it with some cognac accessories, including this oldie but goodie Sorial clutch and these strappy flat sandals that are under $25. I think it would also be cute with a straw bag, like this one or this one.

There are a few other high/low dresses I’m loving right now, like this ivory midi dress and this pretty blue ruffle dress. I am busy planning my trip to Charleston in June, and I think both of these might just make their way into my luggage! Speaking of Charleston, I would love to hear any tips you guys have. Are there any “must visit” places or yummy restaurants I need to add to my itinerary? Let me know in the comments!

Dagne Dover – Ava Bucket Bag

Dagne Dover recently released their Spring/Summer 2017 Collection: Dreaming in Marrakech, and it truly is a dream! Thanks to Dagne Dover, I was able to get my hands on the Ava Bucket in Jasmine, and it is quickly becoming my favorite bag of the spring season.

I just love everything about it: the size, the shape, and the color (which is the most beautiful shade of blue). Most of the bags I own are very neutral shades like black, white, grey, or nude. While this isn’t a super vibrant color, it still adds the perfect little pastel pop to a spring or summer outfit. The leather is oh so soft, and the brushed gold hardware completely won me over. It cinches on each side with buttons, so you can unbutton for a more open bucket if you prefer.

I’ll be honest, I was hesitant to get a bucket bag because I was afraid it would be so big and cavernous that I wouldn’t be able to keep my things organized. However, this bag has a divider down the middle with all sorts of pockets and card slots. I actually think I will able to keep my things even more organized now. Yay for organization! If you want something that you can grab quickly to run in the store, this matching clutch wallet would be perfect. Throw it in your bucket bag, or carry it by itself!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and every piece in this collection would make an amazing gift for mom (or yourself)!

Little Black Skirt

We all know that the LBD is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, but let’s not underestimate the LBS (little black skirt). This beauty from the new Victoria Beckham for Target collection is perfect in every way. It’s not too short, not too tight, and has the cutest scallop trim detail on the pocket. It almost has a french maid look to it! It is truly a day to night piece – wear it to brunch with your girl friends or for an evening out with your significant other. Did I mention it’s only $30? Too good to pass up! I paired it with this striped top for an all-over black and white look. It doesn’t get much more classic than black and white. I am also obsessed with this scallop hem skirt that’s only $31.

These black scalloped flats have been my go-to this past week. They are under $20, and they look so similar to these Chloe flats that are over $500. I am all for investing that much in a handbag, but I can’t bring myself to splurge on a pair of shoes. I think it’s because I know how beat up my shoes get, even when I am trying to be careful with them. I have a few pairs of Tory Burch flats that I absolutely love, but they definitely look worn. That’s why most of my shoes come from Target. I can wear them completely out and not feel bad about it!

Mixed Prints

I will admit, I have always been afraid of mixing prints. My brain is always telling me “these two things do not go together” or “you must wear a solid bottom with a printed top”. Because of this way of thinking, I have had a hard time latching on to this trend. For the longest time I just thought this was a look I couldn’t pull off – like my style wasn’t “funky” enough to get away with it. My friends – be ye not afraid! I have been playing around with prints a lot lately and now I am fully embracing this look!

If you are hesitant like I was, let me suggest a couple of “gateway” prints that will ease you into it. Polka dots are always a good one to start with, like this polka dot pencil skirt that I paired with a floral tank. Two different prints, yes, but they both have a black base and the polka dots are fairly subtle. You may also want to try mixing prints with stripes. Again, a classic print that isn’t too “busy” and can be paired with literally any print under the sun (even a different striped print – *gasp*).

One thing I love about this outfit is that almost all of it is from Target (the top, the skirt, and the shoes). While I like to invest in nice pieces from time to time, I honestly buy a majority of my day-to-day clothes from Target. It is one of my go to stores for shoes, as you can tell from this post, this post, and this post.

Floral Off-The-Shoulder Dress

You just can’t go wrong with a floral off-the-shoulder dress this spring. I found this one recently at Anthropologie, and I immediately fell in love with the pretty print and the fluted sleeves. Anthropologie just had their 25% off sale, so this dress sold out before I could even share it with you! However, I found this similar off the shoulder dress that’s under $80, and this rose print dress for under $40. This two-piece dress is another great option. It’s so fun and flirty, and I just love the colors! All of these would be perfect for a spring wedding, a bridal shower, or even a baby shower.

I am still obsessed with my Elaine Turner clutch (last seen here), and I have been carrying it nearly every day these past couple of weeks. I love that I can carry it as a clutch, or put a chain on it and wear it as a crossbody. It’s still on sale, but quantities are extremely limited. Be sure to grab it now while you can! This blush clutch is also super cute, and only $25.

Is anyone else feeling a lack of motivation today? You know, one of those days that you just stare at your to do list and don’t even know where to start? It may just be a case of the Mondays, but I am seriously struggling. Caffeine is not even helping, and that is not a good sign! How do you guys get motivated and prepared for a busy week? Do you have any tips or tricks that you can pass along? I would love to hear from you!

Navy Embroidered Romper + Anthro Sale

There’s probably nothing more Texan than a field of bluebonnets. This beautiful field is not too far from our house, so Garrett and I headed down just before sunset to capture the pretty blooms. I threw on my new favorite navy embroidered romper for an evening of frolicking.

I just love the embroidered detail down the sides, around the edges, and on the sleeves! The scallops add even more prettiness (if that’s even possible). The great news is that it’s currently 25% off, but sizes are limited! All full-price dresses and jumpsuits are on sale right now at Anthropologie, and I have rounded up my 15 favorites above for you to shop (like this off the shoulder floral dress that will be on the blog next week). 25% off is a huge discount for Anthropologie, so hurry and grab your favorites before they sell out!
