How to Get Perfectly Wavy Hair

Dallas Fashion & Beauty Blogger, The Polished Posy shares a tutorial for how to get perfectly wavy hair.

I am constantly getting questions about my hair and what I use to get my waves, so I thought it would be fun to share the tools I use and a little bit about the process! As you can see, I have quite the styling arsenal. The T3 Whirl Trio is a must-have, as it’s basically three styling wands in one. You can also get additional attachments, like the Polished Curls and Defined Curls interchangeable clip barrels. They are so easy to switch out, and they take up less space than 5 separate curling irons would. I also use the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Hair Dryer, and it truly helps smooth out my naturally frizzy hair.

After I dry my hair, I separate my hair into about 10 sections. My hair isn’t super thick, so if you have thick hair you may want to do underneath first and then move to the top section. I always spray a light hold thermal protection hairspray on each section before I start curling.

For this look, I am using the T3 Whirl Trio (1″ straight barrel). To begin, smooth out the first section with a brush and then begin wrapping the hair around the wand (away from your face). Begin twisting the hair as you wrap, as this will give you more of a wavy look instead of ringlets. Repeat this all the way around your head, remembering to let your hair cool down before brushing it out. I will sometimes pin each section after I curl it, so that the curl will hold a little better.

If you’ve never used a curling wand before, it may take some practice before you fully get the hang of it. Always be sure to use the glove that comes with it so that you don’t burn yourself. Eventually, you will be so used to the process that you won’t need the glove.

After your hair cools down, give it a good tousle (or brush through it) and you will have gorgeous, romantic waves. I like to spray a little more light hold hairspray all over, and even some Alterna Caviar Topcoat Shine Spray to add a little more shine. The whole process takes about 15 minutes, and my waves usually hold all day!
