I have said this time and time again, but bows really do make everything better. It’s safe to say that I am obsessed with this green tie-waist skirt from J.Crew, and there was no way I could make the trip to Charleston without it. The textured seersucker fabric is so perfect for summer, and this shade of green is to die for! I paired it with this striped off-the-shoulder ruffle sweater for another day of exploring Charleston.
Day 2 was filled with more exploring downtown in the French Quarter and Rainbow Row. I just can’t get over all the colorful buildings! We also spent some time driving around to see some other areas of Charleston, including Mount Pleasant. While we were in Mount Pleasant, we had lunch at Tavern & Table where we had the BEST CORNBREAD EVER. Although we are trying to stick to a plant-based diet, we made an exception for this yummy skillet cornbread and the crab artichoke dip. We even saw some dolphins while we were eating on the patio!
After returning back to downtown, we walked down by the waterfront and out onto the pier to take in the gorgeous view of the harbor. We got to see some more dolphins, too! As we walked around, we stopped by Carmella’s for a fruit smoothie and then walked over to Hyman’s gift shop to pick up some Holy City Salt Scrub. Since it was our last day in Charleston, we spent as much time as we could taking photos before it got too dark. When dinnertime rolled around, we decided to hit up Jestine’s (a popular restaurant directly below the apartment we stayed in). The line was always wrapped around the building, so we knew it had to be good! They didn’t have many vegan options, but we did the best we could. We are quickly learning to be more strategic about where we choose to eat that way we aren’t tempted to stray from our diet. Planning ahead is key!
I can honestly say that Charleston is one of the prettiest cities I have ever visited, and I cannot wait to go back! Have any of you been there? What’s your favorite thing about Charleston? Let’s chat in the comments!
