Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another:
‘What?! You too?
I thought I was the only one.’
– C.S. Lewis
Blog shoots are always fun, BUT they are even more fun with a friend! I recently spent the day shooting (and gabbing) with my friend and fellow blogger Whitney Kutch. If you don’t know Whitney, she is the blogger behind HelloWhitney.com and the YouTube series Whit’s Kitch. We have so much in common it’s scary, but we are totally different when it comes to fashion.
I would describe mine and Whitney’s contrasting styles as “sweet and sassy”. While I tend to gravitate toward sweet florals, pretty pastels, and feminine details, Whitney’s sassy look is a bit more bold and eclectic. I love that style can reflect your mood and personality, but it doesn’t necessarily define you. Being different is what makes life interesting, and you should wear what makes you feel good. I often joke about my style as being “Grandma Chic” (because I like a lot of things that your grandma would probably wear), and I’m totally okay with that! If I like it, I wear it. No shame in this game.
My white sundress is no longer available, but I found this one that’s nearly identical if you’re looking for something similar.
What is your approach to style? Do you find that your look is similar to the people you hang out with? Do you wear trendy things because you really like them, or do you just prefer to go along with the crowd? There is nothing wrong with either of those, but it is always good to ask yourself these questions to make sure you’re staying true to your personal style and what makes you happy.
