If you didn’t already know, neutrals have my heart. Sometimes I feel like I need to be wearing more color, but then I quickly remind myself that I should wear what I’m drawn to no matter what it is (or isn’t). I honestly just feel more comfortable in neutral tones, but that doesn’t mean my wardrobe has to be basic and boring. You don’t always need bright colors and bold patterns to create a showstopping look. I like to make a statement with a neutral outfit (like this black and white ensemble) by mixing interesting textures and fabrics.
– Ruffles –
Just call me “Fancy Pants”! I have been searching for a pair of dressy pants that have a bit more personality than your typical straight leg trousers. These black ruffle pants are beyond fabulous, and it would be super easy to take them from work to happy hour. They are so much fun to wear, and would even be great for a date night. Don’t ruffles just make life so much better?!
– Lace –
I am not opposed to wearing white after Labor Day. This sleeveless lace top is great for early fall when it’s still too hot for long sleeves and thick fabrics, and honestly would be wearable during any season. High necklines will be everywhere this fall and winter, just layer this one with a blazer or moto jacket when the temps start to drop!
– Crushed Velvet –
I fell in love with this Rebecca Minkoff crushed velvet clutch the moment I saw it. This dusty pink color is great if you’re like me and don’t wear a lot of the typical deep fall hues. It’s just the perfect little pop of color, even though I consider it a neutral. There’s just something about velvet that brings a little warmth and coziness to an outfit. Velvet was huge last fall, and that trend will continue throughout this fall as well!
