Healthy Hair Habits with Hair Food

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hair Food. The opinions and text are all mine.

I have been all about healthy habits lately, especially when it comes to my beauty routine! It’s so easy to get off track, especially in the spring when life tends to get a bit busier. It’s so important to have a healthy haircare routine, and I thought I would share a few general guidelines I’ve been following to ensure my hair stays strong and healthy.

Hair Food

Not all hair products are created equal, which is why we need to pay attention to the ingredients in these products before exposing our hair to them. One of my new favorite haircare brands that uses natural ingredients is Hair Food! Their Nourishing Collection is one major reason why my hair has been so healthy lately.

Hair Food’s Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner with Coconut Milk and Chai Spice is full of nourishing ingredients that leave my hair softer and shinier than ever! It’s free of parabens, sulfates, and dyes (aka: all the bad things that will wreak havoc on your hair). The coconut scent is AMAZING and not overpowering like some scented shampoos and conditioners. Absolutely perfect for spring and summer!

I know I have mentioned this on other beauty posts, but this is such a huge reason that my hair stays healthy. I used to blow dry my hair every other day, and as a result I constantly had dry and brittle hair. There’s only so much your hair can take, and as soon as I started easing up on the heat styling my hair health started to take a turn for the better. My hair is soft, shiny, and strong, and I’m able to grow it out longer now that the breakage is under control.

This one is hard for me to stick to for some reason, but I am starting to take it more seriously. I used to go years without a haircut because I desperately wanted my hair to grow longer. Turns out I was sabotaging myself!  Getting a trim every 6 months or so is important to prevent split ends from spreading up the hair shaft. Keeping your ends in tip-top shape means hair will be overall stronger and fuller, leading to the long luscious locks you’ve always wanted.

Hair Food Shampoo and Conditioner goes a long way in providing nourishment, but we also need to think about the actual food we are putting into our bodies. In reality, all food is hair food because your diet can affect the health of your hair. It’s important to eat lots of nutrient-rich foods, including foods high in Protein, Iron, Vitamin C, and Antioxidants. Your hair will thank you!
