Blogger Shuffle: My Weekend in NYC at Cambria Hotel New York – Chelsea

This trip was a sponsored opportunity on behalf of Cambria Hotels. As always, all opinions are my own.

Wouldn’t you love to switch places with someone for a few days and experience what it’s like to live in each other’s cities? That’s exactly what I did this past weekend! Cambria Hotels invited me to take part in their Blogger Shuffle along with New York City blogger, Simply Audree Kate. The plan? I would spend a few days exploring her city (NYC), and she would do the same in my city (Dallas)! We created each other’s itineraries, which included recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Audree knocked it out of the park with her recommendations, and I had an absolute blast living like an NYC local!

Cambria Hotel New York Chelsea

While in NYC, I stayed at the Cambria Hotel New York – Chelsea. After having such a great experience, I am officially convinced that it’s the best place to stay in New York City. The first thing I noticed about this hotel is that it’s in the absolute best location! I was able to easily get pretty much anywhere I wanted to go in the city. I took the subway most of the time, so it was super convenient to be close to a subway stop. The hotel is located in Chelsea’s Flower District, so there are cute flower shops all around with lots of instagrammable photo ops!

Aside from being centrally located, Cambria Hotel New York – Chelsea also has some awesome amenities. Their rooftop bar & bistro, Social Circle, has an amazing view of the city. You can even see the One World Trade Center building to the south! I loved having dinner and drinks up there, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. I’ll tell you more about that in a minute!

The 24/7 on-site Fitness Center is super convenient, especially if you want to keep up your workout routine while on vacation. It’s a great way to begin or end the day, and you don’t have to worry about it closing! The facility is fully equipped, making it easy to keep up with your usual routine without leaving the hotel.

Cambria Hotel New York – Chelsea has a unique Nightcap Program that has completely redefined the meaning of a nightcap. You might think of a nightcap as an after-work cocktail, but the Cambria Nightcap Program provides more thoughtful, personalized upscale options. Cambria conducted a survey and found that close to 50% of travelers are drinking less alcohol while on business trips, so Cambria is giving guests more options to wind down at the end of the day. Guests and locals can choose from several little luxuries at the Social Circle, including items like milk + cookies, a milk punch cocktail, or even Chamomile Lavender tea! Choice Privileges members also receive a complimentary nightcap upon check-in such as a hydrating face mask, a shower burst, or herbal tea. I chose the tea for my nightcap, and it was such a relaxing way to end a busy day of exploring

The food in NYC did not disappoint, including the dinner I had at the Social Circle rooftop bar and bistro at the Cambria Hotel New York – Chelsea. I am very picky when it comes to burgers, and it takes A LOT to impress me. I can honestly say that the burger at the Social Circle is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The onion rings and fries were also to die for! I love that they have a locally inspired menu, complete with local craft beer and signature cocktails.

Audree had given me some amazing restaurant recommendations, and one was Artichoke Pizza. You have to get pizza when you’re in NYC, and this place was perfect after taking a stroll on the High Line. The pepperoni was my favorite!

I also tried out Jack’s Wife Freda for brunch, and it’s the most adorable little place! I ordered the rosewater waffle with honey syrup and it was delicious. I wasn’t too sure how the rosewater would taste in a waffle, but I’m glad I took the chance!

A few other restaurants I loved were Aunt Jake’s, Bubby’s, and Joe’s Pizza. I also had some of the best chocolate chip cookies ever at Milk & Cookies in Greenwich Village. If I lived in NYC, I would be going there every day!

Cambria Hotel New York Chelsea          Cambria Hotel New York Chelsea

I tried to do and see as much as I could in the few days I was in NYC, although it was impossible to go everywhere! I’m so glad I was able to make it to DUMBO. It’s such a cool area, and the view of Manhattan can’t be beat.

Central Park was beautiful, and I loved the area around Bethesda Fountain & Terrace. Such a gorgeous part of the park, and the perfect place for photos.

I also really enjoyed hanging out on the High Line, which I was able to walk to from the hotel. It’s such a cozy little escape from the hustle and bustle of the city!

I think my favorite neighborhood in all of NYC is the West Village. I could walk those streets forever! The buildings have so much character, and it was so quiet compared to other parts of the city. If I ever moved to NYC, this is where I would want to live!

I had so much fun switching places with Simply Audree Kate for a few days, and I am already counting down the days until my next NYC trip. Be sure to follow Simply Audree Kate on Instagram to see her adventure in Dallas!

Thanks to Cambria Hotels for the complimentary stay in association with this review, and for this unique opportunity to live like an NYC local.

Overnight Rejuvenation with VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask

This post is sponsored by VIIcode. As always, all opinions are my own.

My undereyes have always been a problem area for me, so I’m always looking for the latest and greatest eye products to try out. I look forward to my skincare routine every day, and I love using masks because they are so soothing and a great way to wind down at night. Lately, I have been using the VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask and I am loving the results!

VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask

VIIcode Oxygen Eye Masks are packed with natural ingredients, including essential vitamins and minerals that help tighten and hydrate the skin. With continued use, they can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and keep the skin looking vibrant and youthful. I love that they are super gentle, so even people with sensitive skin can use them without worry of irritation. I’ve also been loving the VIIcode Oxygen Hydrating Eye Spray (also full of vitamins and minerals). It’s so refreshing!

VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask          VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask

I have been able to seamlessly add these two products into my nightly skincare routine. After cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, I spray the VIIcode Oxygen Hydrating Eye Spray around my eyes for some extra hydration (patting it around a bit as it dries). Then, I pop on the VIIcode Oxygen Eye Masks and I’m ready for bed.

They can be left on all night (up to 8 hours). Just set it and forget it! They’re less slippery than other eye masks I’ve tried, so they stay put while you sleep. The next morning, I wake up looking and feeling like I just left the spa. I love knowing that the eye masks have been working throughout the night and my undereye area has soaked up all those vitamins and minerals.

I am so glad I found the VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask and Oxygen Hydrating Eye Spray, and I think you guys will love these products too! Are eye masks part of your skincare routine? Have you tried any VIIcode products? Let me know in the comments!

Spring Skincare Roundup: My Go-To Brands & Products

Skin care has been a big focus of mine lately, even more so than ever before. A big reason for this is that I’ve been spending a lot more time outside and want to make sure my skin stays protected and nourished. In the spring and summer, our skin is exposed to harsh natural elements (like UVA rays) and not-so-natural elements (hello, pool chemicals!). I have rounded up some of my favorite spring skincare products from a few beauty brands that I love. They’re not just pretty packages; they also work hard to keep my skin looking and feeling its best!

spring skincare graffiti collective

Graffiti Collective

One of my most recent skincare discoveries is Graffiti Collective. It didn’t take long for me to fall head over heels in love with their colorful face masks! I had the privilege of meeting the founder, Sheila Patel, and her passion for creating natural skincare that everyone can enjoy is truly inspiring.

Not only are Graffiti Collective’s products amazing, the overall concept of the brand is different than anything I’ve seen before in the beauty industry. Graffiti Collective is combining raw, natural skincare with urban street art to encourage creativity and fearlessness. Believe it or not, skincare can actually be a form of art and self-expression. Pretty cool concept, right? They have an amazing line of face masks in gorgeous bold colors that are so much fun to paint on and get creative (while also nourishing your skin in the process). My favorite is the Street Rose smoothing face mask, and not just because it’s pretty and pink. It brightens, tightens, and makes my skin feel SO smooth and hydrated. Plus, I love that I can actually move my face while the mask is on (unlike a lot of drying masks I’ve tried). I know you guys will fall in love with this brand like I have! Tata Harper

A brand that I have loved for years is Tata Harper. I’ve tried many of their products and have never once been disappointed! My favorites include the Clarifying Moisturizer and Clarifying Mask for acne-prone skin. The Creme Riche is an anti-aging peptide night cream that I’ve been using pretty much every night on my face, neck, and chest. I love knowing that I am treating my skin with the very best clean, natural ingredients when I use Tata Harper products! When I met Tata Harper a few years ago, I loved hearing her speak about why she created the brand. My key takeaway: you shouldn’t have to risk your health for beauty!

Ahh, Elemis… my true love. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably heard me rave about this brand for a while now. I have way too many favorites to list, but some absolute must-haves are their Pro Collagen Marine Cream (also with SPF 30), the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, and I swear by their entire Superfood line. When my skin was at its worst a few years ago, I am 100% positive that these Elemis products helped bring it back to life.

Any other K-Beauty lovers out there? Mamonde’s gorgeous packaging was initially what drew me in, but their products are so good that now I’m hooked! If you’ve been wanting to try a beauty water, the one to get is Mamonde’s Rose Water Toner. It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed, and honestly smells like a rose garden! I also love their Pore Clean Clay Mask when I’m in need of a detox. It helps reduce the appearance of large pores, which I have struggled with for years.

Pixi Beauty

I love Pixi Beauty Skintreats for many reasons, and one is that they’re easily accessible! If I am running low on something, I know I can grab it on my next Target run. Their products are affordable, but also super high-quality. A few of my favorites include the Glow Tonic (that I use daily), Glow Tonic Serum, DetoxifEYE Under-Eye Patches, and their entire line of rose-infused products. I’m a rose addict, what can I say? I also LOVE their makeup, which I’ll be sharing with you soon in another post!

spring skincare pixi beauty          spring skincare laneige

Laneige is another one of my favorite K-Beauty brands. They have some of the most hydrating products I’ve tried (and who can resist their colorful packaging?). My favorites are the Water Sleeping Mask and the Lip Sleeping Mask (can’t forget to give your lips some love too)! Most recently, I started using their Moisturizing Foam Cleanser and I love its rich, creamy lather. My skin feels so smooth afterwards!

Although, this isn’t a complete list of skincare brands I use, these have definitely been my go-to as of late. Have you tried any of these products? I would love to hear about your favorites!

Healthy Hair Habits with Hair Food

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hair Food. The opinions and text are all mine.

I have been all about healthy habits lately, especially when it comes to my beauty routine! It’s so easy to get off track, especially in the spring when life tends to get a bit busier. It’s so important to have a healthy haircare routine, and I thought I would share a few general guidelines I’ve been following to ensure my hair stays strong and healthy.

Hair Food

Not all hair products are created equal, which is why we need to pay attention to the ingredients in these products before exposing our hair to them. One of my new favorite haircare brands that uses natural ingredients is Hair Food! Their Nourishing Collection is one major reason why my hair has been so healthy lately.

Hair Food’s Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner with Coconut Milk and Chai Spice is full of nourishing ingredients that leave my hair softer and shinier than ever! It’s free of parabens, sulfates, and dyes (aka: all the bad things that will wreak havoc on your hair). The coconut scent is AMAZING and not overpowering like some scented shampoos and conditioners. Absolutely perfect for spring and summer!

I know I have mentioned this on other beauty posts, but this is such a huge reason that my hair stays healthy. I used to blow dry my hair every other day, and as a result I constantly had dry and brittle hair. There’s only so much your hair can take, and as soon as I started easing up on the heat styling my hair health started to take a turn for the better. My hair is soft, shiny, and strong, and I’m able to grow it out longer now that the breakage is under control.

hair food          hair food

This one is hard for me to stick to for some reason, but I am starting to take it more seriously. I used to go years without a haircut because I desperately wanted my hair to grow longer. Turns out I was sabotaging myself!  Getting a trim every 6 months or so is important to prevent split ends from spreading up the hair shaft. Keeping your ends in tip-top shape means hair will be overall stronger and fuller, leading to the long luscious locks you’ve always wanted.

Hair Food Shampoo and Conditioner goes a long way in providing nourishment, but we also need to think about the actual food we are putting into our bodies. In reality, all food is hair food because your diet can affect the health of your hair. It’s important to eat lots of nutrient-rich foods, including foods high in Protein, Iron, Vitamin C, and Antioxidants. Your hair will thank you!

If you want to kick start your own healthy hair habits this spring, definitely grab some Hair Food Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner at your local Walmart. Let me know what you think after trying it!

It’s been a little quiet here lately, but I’ve been busy working on some fun projects that I’m hoping to incorporate into the blog! I’ve been wanting to get into floral photography, so I headed out to The Dallas Arboretum to capture some of their new spring blooms. The tulips and daffodils did not disappoint!

Pretty Spring Nail Colors from Londontown

If ever there was a nail polish brand that was made for me, Londontown is IT! As a self-proclaimed Anglophile, I am obsessed with everything related to England (as seen here and here). The moment I learned about Londontown and saw all of their cute nail color names, I knew I had to try them out! Their new spring nail colors are so dreamy, and I am so excited to share them with you! Luckily, their colors aren’t just gorgeous. They are super high quality and long-lasting as well.

Londontown Spring Nail Colors

A delicate, subtle pink, Afternoon Tea is probably my favorite spring nail color from Londontown. It reminds me of a color that Meghan Markle would wear. Perfectly royal, yet sweet and springy!

I always think of peach as the ultimate pastel spring color, and Peach Please is the perfect shade! It’s not overly orange like some peach nail colors. Just the right amount!

Londontown Spring Nail Colors          Londontown Spring Nail Colors

If you’re looking for a slightly brighter pop of pink than Afternoon Tea, Lemonade Pop is the one to get. Talk about the perfect spring nail color for Easter!

Is pink not really your thing? (can’t relate) Dainty Daze is the prettiest shade of periwinkle blue I’ve ever seen! I very rarely wear blue nail polish, but this greyish-blue shade is becoming a new favorite of mine.

Londontown Spring Nail Colors          Londontown Spring Nail Colors

Aside from Londontown’s beautiful nail colors and high quality formulas, they are also vegan, and cruelty-free. Their nail polishes are 9-Free, meaning they are free from toxic ingredients like formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate.

One other major thing that stands out for me is their thick brushes. There’s nothing worse that applying nail polish with a thin brush that doesn’t hold product well and creates a streaky finish. Londontown’s brushes are the best I’ve used in all my years of painting my nails. Glides on smoothly and perfectly every time!

The shade I have been wearing most recently is Peach Please (seen in the photo below). It gets me so excited for warm, spring days!

I know you guys will LOVE these spring nail colors as much as I do, and Londontown was kind enough to give TPP readers a discount code to use on future purchases! Use code “polishedposy” for 25% off at Londontown, and be sure to let me know which shades you pick up!
