Get Smoother, Brighter Skin with Michael Todd’s Sonicsmooth

Michael Todd Sonicsmooth Dermaplaning System

How many of you have heard of dermaplaning? To be honest, it wasn’t even on my radar until a few months ago when I saw a video about it and I instantly knew I wanted to try it. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I have struggled for years with skin tone and texture issues thanks to adult acne. On top of that, I never realized how much peach fuzz I actually have on my face until recently when I saw a photo of myself with the light hitting at just the right angle to reveal it. Not a pretty sight! Of course, we all have a little peach fuzz, but I never realized how it was actually affecting my makeup application. After trying out Michael Todd’s Sonicsmooth Dermaplaning System, I am convinced that every woman needs this in their lives!

First, I need to explain that this device is not just for hair removal. The Sonicsmooth uses sonic movements to rid the skin of unwanted facial hair while also exfoliating the top layer of dead skin. This leaves behind softer, brighter skin, and a much smoother surface to work with when you apply makeup. It’s a total game changer!

Michael Todd Sonicsmooth Dermaplaning System

I love that the Sonicsmooth is so easy to use, and I can seamlessly incorporate it into my current routine. I like to do this at night so that I can let my skin rest and not apply makeup directly after. Prior to using the device, I use Michael Todd’s Honey and Oat Cleanser (which comes with the system). This preps the skin by removing any surface oils and ensures that I’ll get amazing results every time!

There are 3 different sonic speeds to choose from, depending on your skin type. Don’t worry about cutting yourself! The Sonicsmooth does not use blades but rather safety edges, combined with sonic technology (258 movements per second). The gentle sonic movements are not uncomfortable at all, and it actually feels good on my skin! I love knowing that I’m removing dead skin cells to reveal the beautiful skin underneath. The best part? I don’t even have to leave my house or spend lots of money at the spa to do it!

After I finish exfoliating my entire face, I apply Michael Todd’s Sonicsmooth Soothe After Treatment Gel. This routine only needs to be done once a week, and the system includes a 2 month supply of single use safety edges.

I have definitely noticed a difference in how my makeup looks now that the annoying peach fuzz is gone. My skin is smoother than ever, and I feel like my moisturizers are able to work better without all that hair and dead skin in the way. I just wish I had discovered this sooner! Have any of you tried dermaplaning before? If so, I would love to hear about your experience! If you guys are curious about the Sonicsmooth and have questions about my experience, please send them my way! You can get your own Sonicsmooth here: Michael Todd Sonicsmooth Dermaplaning System

Thanks to Michael Todd Beauty for sending me the Sonicsmooth to review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Plaid Button-Up Shirt

Plaid Button Up Shirt

I have been a fan of plaid for as long as I can remember. It’s just so classic, and I think it should be considered the official print of fall. This plaid button up shirt is SO soft and cozy, and I love wearing it with these simple black skinny jeans. It’s only $26, and it comes in lots of other colors! The black and white one is my favorite, but I may go back for the navy one, too.

I am still absolutely obsessed with these ankle boots (last seen here)! You will probably continue to see them over and over for quite a while. They’re so cute and comfy!

This monogrammed tote is one of my favorite things right now. Yes, another monogrammed piece. I can’t get enough! I love the scallop details, and it holds a ton of stuff. Sadly, this exact one is no longer available. BUT, I found this equally adorable monogrammed tote for you to shop! I think this would be such a great holiday gift for any mom, grandma, sister, or friend. You could even turn it into a little gift bag and fill it with lots of goodies (like jewelry, beauty products, chocolates, etc.). How fun?! A personalized gift shows that you put thought and effort into their gift, and I guarantee they will appreciate it.

I am so excited to start my holiday shopping! What about you? Do you love it? Does it stress you out? A little bit of both? It can definitely be stressful when you’re searching for the perfect gift for someone that already has it all, or someone that is super picky. Gift guides are always helpful for me, so I will be putting together several gift guides for you guys in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Marleylilly Reversible Vest

MarleyLilly Reversible Vest

One of my favorite things about fall is bringing all of my vests out to play! I love the look of a vest over a simple long-sleeved tee, and this precious Marleylilly reversible vest might be my favorite of all time. Being from the south, I am obsessed with anything and everything monogrammed, but that’s not even my favorite thing about this vest. It’s actually reversible, so it’s like getting two vests for the price of one! The main side (with the monogram) is a gorgeous camel color that just screams fall, and the other side is a pretty plaid print with shades of red and green. I love pieces like this that you can easily change up depending on your mood!

When I go looking for new boots, Old Navy is usually not a store that comes to mind. However, the other day I was in the store browsing for sweaters, and these ankle boots just jumped out at me. The faux suede is so chic, and they actually look and feel more expensive than they are. I really need to shop at Old Navy more often. They are constantly upping their game season after season!

After seeing both sides of the vest, which one is your favorite? The temps here in Dallas have been so up and down lately. I am ready for it to get cold and stay cold. Doesn’t Mother Nature know I need to wear my cute vests and sweaters? Jeez… 😉

Hope you all had the best weekend! Mine was full of photo shoots and shopping for new living room furniture. I am so excited to finally get my white slipcovered couch I’ve always wanted. I have several home decor related posts coming up in the next couple of months, so you guys will get to see my little living room makeover!

Olay 28 Day Challenge – My Results

Olay 28 Day Challenge

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I recently took the Olay 28 Day Challenge. Now that I’m in my mid-thirties, it seems like every day I notice a new “line” on my face when I look in the mirror. Aging is inevitable, but the least I can do is take care of my skin and slow down the process as much as possible. The Olay 28 Day regimen has been clinically proven to make skin look younger in just 28 days, so I was excited to put that claim to the test. For this challenge, I replaced my daily facial moisturizers and eye creams with the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream. I have used these two products morning and night for the past 28 days, and I am so happy with the results!

The #Olay28Day 2 Step daily regimen is so easy to follow, and is the perfect no-fuss skincare routine for the busy gal on the go.

Step 1 (Morning and Night) – Apply the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream to cleansed skin. This reduces the appearance of fine lines, immediately plumps and hydrates skin, and I honestly noticed a difference after day 1. Lately, I have been waking up with a glow to my skin instead of the usual dryness.

Step 2 (Morning and Night) – Apply the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream under eyes, outer corners, and eyelids. I have struggled with dark circles and under eye puffiness for as long as I can remember. Although the puffiness hasn’t gone completely away, I have noticed that my dark circles have lightened up.

Olay 28 Day Challenge

This dynamic duo was exactly what my skin needed to look and feel younger than ever. I will be honest, this is probably the longest I have stuck to a specific skincare routine without changing anything up. I almost always start out using a moisturizer and have to stop because it breaks me out. My acne prone skin is just so sensitive, and it’s hard for me to find a moisturizer that I can use every single day and night. I am happy to report that the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream didn’t break me out once, and my skin hasn’t looked this good in years!

The before and after photos don’t do the results justice. It’s so hard to capture skin firmness and softness in photos, but I can tell you that I definitely see the difference every day when I look in the mirror. I have felt so confident with my skin that I often don’t even wear foundation. I didn’t even do that in high school!

I would love to invite you all to start your own 28 Day Challenge! Visit Olay Skin Advisor to learn more about your skin and which regimen is right for you. Use code 28DAYS7317 for $40 off your purchase for your own regimen at Olay.com (limited quantity). #Olay28Day

Edge Up Your Fall Wardrobe

Edge Up Your Fall Wardrobe

Every once in a while, I like to add some edge to my otherwise “sweet and feminine” wardrobe. When I went shopping for fall jackets a few weeks ago, this faux leather jacket immediately caught my eye. It’s a different style than I would usually go for, but sometimes you gotta live a little and step out of your comfort zone. I am so glad I did! I love the structure, the zipper details, and the gorgeous shade of grey. It’s the perfect edgy addition to my fall wardrobe.

I paired it with some denim jeggings and black peep toe booties, but I think it would be absolutely adorable with a pretty, feminine dress. I love the contrast of edgy and feminine. It’s so unexpected, and that’s why I love it so much! Just a little tip if you decide to get this jacket, definitely consider sizing up. I am usually a small, and the medium fits me perfectly. It’s supposed to be form fitting, but a girl’s gotta have room to breathe!

One of my favorite clutches right now is my Dagne Dover Elle Clutch. This light grey color goes with everything I own, and the minimalist design is something I have been really drawn to lately. Simple and understated, but still super chic. It comes in a smaller version as well, but the large is perfect for toting around my essentials. It would make a great iPad case, too! Dagne Dover always has the best bags, and the quality is amazing. Remember my Ava Bucket Bag (last seen here)? It’s still one of my faves!
