Look of the Week

I’m coming at you guys with some color this week. Out of the norm for me, but how FUN is this dress? Just looking at it makes me happy! I paired it with minimal accessories, because with this print you don’t need a lot of extras. As always, links to everything below!

July Favorites!

Can you believe July is over? Seriously, this summer is flying by! As much as I love summer, I am SO looking forward to cooler weather. And football. And cute boots.
I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite and most used products from this past month. Some of these were brand new to me, others were old faves that I reintroduced into my daily routine. I love rediscovering products that I haven’t used in years, and wondering why I ever stopped using them in the first place!
LC by Lauren Conrad Necklace – This is just so pretty, and it really goes with almost everything! I have been wearing it with dresses, t-shirts, you name it. I always get compliments on it every time I wear it! (linked to similar)

Kate Spade Bow Earrings – I found these beauties at Nordstrom Rack and haven’t wanted to take them off since. I just feel so fancy when I wear them, even though they were super affordable. There’s just something about Kate Spade bows that make me one happy girl! (linked to similar)

Nexxus Pro-Mend Split End Binding Crème – I used to use this religiously after washing my hair and just got out of the habit over the past year. I’m so glad I started using it again! It smells amazing, and my hair just looks and feels so much better.

Loreal Nail Polish in “Crazy for Chic” – Loving this color for mid-summer…and Loreal nail polishes are quite possibly my favorite. The formula is excellent, but I think they changed up their brushes a bit. The brush with this one doesn’t seem as thick as they usually are. Either way, I still love it!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser – I know everyone has been raving about this for quite some time, but it truly is my holy grail under eye concealer! It just brightens everything up and makes me look more awake. I even dab a little on my chin and between my eyebrows to lighten up those areas.

Ralph Lauren “Ralph” Perfume – This might be my all time favorite fragrance, and it is perfect for summer. It has a sweet, floral scent and is super long wearing. I have a hard time finding perfumes that last, and this one seriously lasts all day!

Milani Gel Powder Eye Shadow in “Bella Taupe” – I have been using this underneath my lower lash line and I am loving it! The term “gel powder” confused me a bit when I bought it, but it does sort of glide on like a gel even though it is technically a powder.

Benefit Benebalm – Some days I just don’t want to mess with lip liner and lipstick, so I love having this tinted lip balm to just quickly swipe on and go. It has just a hint of color to give my lips some life, and it is super moisturizing!

NYX Wonder Pencil – This really is a “wonder pencil”. I generally use it on the inner corners of my eyes, but it is also a great concealer and reverse lip liner.

It Cosmetics Hello Lashes Extensions Mascara – I am a mascara fiend, so of course I love trying every new mascara I can get my hands on. This one has proved to be super lengthening, and the brush (with rubber bristles) is designed in a way to get coverage on those hard to reach lashes near the inner corner.

Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend. Let me know what your favorite products were this past month!

Look of the Week

This week’s look is casual yet chic. Very appropriate for a day out running errands, or even brunch with the girls. And can we talk about this Fendi crossbody? To die for!! Links to everything below.

Black, White, & Chic All Over

Happy Monday! Today I’m bringing you guys a look that is super easy and stylish for late summer. As most of you know, I am a neutral kind of girl. Occasionally I will wear color, but I am a sucker for black and white. It’s just so classic, and you really can’t go wrong with it.
For this look, I paired a Michael Kors sleeveless top (similar here) with some Mossimo white jeggings from Target (similar here). I picked up these amazing heels at Target last year. They are the Prabal Gurung for Target Lace-Up Stiletto Caged Heels. There are some listed on Ebay, but otherwise you can find a similar pair here. My bag is the Ralph Lauren Double Zip Satchel from a few seasons ago, but I found this one by Michael Kors that is similar. My bracelets are by Apt. 9 and can be found here at Kohl’s.

We had fun in downtown Denton yesterday finding cool alleyways with unique walls. Definitely something interesting around every corner.

Oh, and my sunnies are by Quay Australia. They are THE most comfortable sunglasses I’ve ever owned!
I will be on a business trip the rest of the week, so things will be a little quiet on the blog and social media. But do not fret… I am still alive! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

July Pop Sugar Box

This month’s Pop Sugar Must Have box is my favorite so far!
If you aren’t familiar with this box, you need to get familiar. It is by far
the best subscription box if you like a good mixture of must have items (read:
not just beauty products and make up). There’s usually a bit of that thrown in,
but you honestly never know what you’re going to get. In the 3 months that I have
subscribed to this box, I’ve gotten everything from sunglasses…to books…to
necklaces…to candy… and it’s all really great stuff! Pop Sugar does such a good
job of identifying the latest trends and the newest “it” brands for that
particular month – so you will literally be counting down the days until your box arrives. It’s seriously the best day of the month!

Here’s a little run down of the July box…

Pretty awesome haul, right? I just can’t get over it. The cute little cards on the right are from the Hallmark Signature Collection. I am obsessed with stationary, so I was super happy to get these!

When I opened up the box and saw this adorable Henri Bendel cosmetic bag, I may have let out a squeal and scared my husband. This alone is worth the price of the entire box! It even came with a coupon for 20% off any full priced item on Henri Bendel’s website (pictured next to the bag). I have decided the coupon is so cute I am going to frame it and put it in my closet. Way too cute to throw away!

I was also super excited to see this Supergoop Setting Mist in the box. I have been wanting to try a setting mist for a while now, but just haven’t taken the leap and purchased one. Now I can try it out! This mist not only sets your make up, but it controls oil and has SPF 50. I love Supergoop products, so I am sure I will love this.

I have never heard of this brand, but this little card case is so cute and they have some really great handbags and leather goods on their website. I’ve actually been needing a new card case that’s small enough to fit inside one of my wristlets. This is just perfect! And the pop of red is much needed since I have a tendency to buy a lot of neutrals. I couldn’t find this card case on the Sorial website, but I am eyeing another item that I might just have to purchase soon: the Gramercy Envelope Clutch.

I don’t think I’ve ever been excited about a toothbrush, but I can honestly say I can’t wait to use this Pop Dental Portable Sonic Toothbrush. It’s so sleek, and has 22,000 vibrations per minute. My teeth need this for sure.

This bar from The Good Bean looks so yummy! I love finding new protein bars that I can easily grab on my way out the door, and this one looks so good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a protein bar with chickpeas. Chickpeas make me happy.
Last but not least, we have a package of Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Wipes. I have seen this brand at Target but I don’t think I’ve tried any of their products. Now is my chance! The ingredients are great, and anything with the term “age refresh” definitely peaks my interest.

So that’s the July Pop Sugar Box! Pretty great, right? For $39.95/month, you would be crazy not to subscribe. The products in each box are usually valued between $100-$150. So…stop reading this and go get yourself a box

Look of the Week

This week’s outfit is very “me” for a lot of reasons. I tend to gravitate toward neutrals, and have to sometimes force myself to wear color! This outfit embraces the blacks/whites/creams but is anything but boring. The texture of the lace and the stripes on the bag make this outfit a showstopper. As always, links to everything below.

My Very First Beauty Swap!

I recently teamed up with an amazing group of bloggers to do
a beauty swap. This was my very first swap so I wasn’t really sure what to
expect. I could not have had a better experience, and I had so much fun getting
to know these girls!
My package came from Nancy Wong (aka: daisylove03). She has
a lovely little blog (Oh Daisy Love) and a YouTube channel packed with beauty
and fashion videos. We got to know each other a bit before the swap and found
out we have very similar taste in makeup and style. She is just the sweetest
thing, and let me tell ya, she knocked this beauty swap out of the park!
When I opened the package, I was greeted with approximately
one million polka dots (my fave) and lots of gold and pink (also my fave). Inside,
there was a sweet card from Nancy along with two little bags filled with goodies.
So what was inside the little bags?  Drumroll please…

So. Much. Awesomeness. I am in love with everything!
We had talked about my obsession with mascara, so Nancy sent
me some Maybelline Lash Sensational in Black Pearl. I tried it this morning and
love it!
Next up was the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadow in Bad to the Bronze. I have actually wanted to try this ever since Tiffany D raved about
it on one of her videos, so I was stoked to see it in my package. We hadn’t
even talked about that before the swap (good job, Nancy!).
I also got 2 Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie buttercream lip glosses.
These little guys are gorgeous, and they are very wearable pinks. I’ll be
carrying these with me in my purse for sure.
Probably my favorite products from this swap are the Benefit
Benetint and Benebalm
. Benefit is one of my favorite brands, and of course I am
a sucker for their packaging. The Benetint is a cheek and lip stain. I haven’t
tried it on my cheeks yet, but I am loving it on my lips! The Benebalm is great
over the Benetint or on its own. I just can’t get enough of it!
As much fun as it was getting an amazing box of goodies in
the mail, I had just as much fun picking out products for the blogger I was
paired up with – Jasmine Eclipse. If you haven’t checked out her blog (Flux +Flow), you must do so! She lives an adventurous life in Maui, and her posts
will definitely inspire you.
Alexandria Waning of Winifred Jac and Amy Bui of On The Rye were also in on this little beauty swap. Alexandria actually coordinated everything and paired us all up (thanks girl!). Be sure to check out their blogs
for some major style inspiration.
I am actually kind of sad that this beauty swap is over! I
am grateful to have connected with this amazing group of bloggers and can’t
wait to do another swap!
