Hi there—I’m Annie Prim, and I’m so glad you found your way here. My journey to launching this blog has been a winding one, full of curiosity, creativity, and a bit of “why not?” I grew up with a deep love of aesthetics—arranging flowers with my grandmother, exploring second-hand finds on lazy Saturday afternoons, and always asking “does this really work?” Not just in how it looks, but how it feels and functions.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design at the University of Melbourne, I spent six years working in a mid-sized product design firm in Sydney. There I helped design everyday objects—kitchen gadgets, home organization pieces, even a line of travel-friendly handbags. Though many of those years were exciting, by 2024 I began to realize I wanted to shift from designing products to using and testing them, and helping others do the same.

Why “The Polished Posy” and my move to product reviews
The name “Polished Posy” comes from the idea of something simple and beautiful—but also well-designed and refined. Originally, the domain was a fashion-and-beauty micro-blog (you might have spotted earlier posts or styling snapshots). While I loved that phase, around January 2025 I felt a pull toward deeper content—honest reviews, real-world usage, and practical buying advice. So I became the author here, shifting the focus toward affiliate-style product review content. I now live in Portland, Oregon—mid-way between mountains and the coast—which gives me a wonderful backdrop for testing everything from outdoor gear to tech gadgets and home décor. Since the start of 2025, my mission has been to share what I’ve learned in my design career and what I’m experiencing as a consumer, so that you’ll spend less time guessing and more time enjoying something that just works.
How I review products
My design background means I pay attention to form, function and the little details—how a button clicks, how a fabric drapes, how a gadget fits into everyday life. When I review a product here on the blog, you’ll see three things: what it promises, how it performed for me (including what didn’t go so smoothly), and whether I think it’s worth your time and money. I don’t believe in perfect props or staged photos—just honest insight from a real person in a real home, living real life. Some weeks I’ll wear a product in my home office, other weeks I’ll throw it in my car or backpack and take it on the road. If something makes the cut, I’ll show you why. If it falls short, I’ll tell you that too.
What you’ll find here
On thepolishedposy.com you’ll find review posts, comparison articles (Is this what you need or that?), and simple guides like “what to look for when buying…” Because I chose this path to give people clarity and confidence, you’ll never find me shilling a product I haven’t used. My reviews are sprinkled with personal anecdotes (yes, I once spilled coffee on a “spill-proof” travel mug) and practical take-aways. I want this space to feel like you’re chatting with a friend who’s been around the design block and is rooting for you to get smart, useful things.
Let’s connect
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Drop me a comment, send me an email, or tell me what product you’re on the fence about. My goal is simple: to make product shopping less stressful and more joyful. Thanks for being here.
